Most tree companies are built around scheduled residential work: a quote on Tuesday, a crew in three weeks, an invoice on a notepad. That model breaks the moment a tree comes down on a garage at midnight and someone needs a defensible scope by Thursday.

Green Care Earth runs the other way around. We're structured for claims work — fast mobilization, before-and-after photography on every job, itemized written scopes, and a crew that knows the difference between clearing a hazard and destroying evidence of causation. Adjusters and restoration contractors use us because the file comes back clean.

We handle the whole tree, from the canopy to the root plate to the lawn we churned up getting the bucket truck in. And because we also run hardscape and landscape restoration crews, the sod, interlock or fence damaged during the removal gets put back by the same company, on the same scope, without a second vendor and a second set of invoices.

Crew chipping storm-felled limbs on a residential property

What we do

Tree removal

Full removal of dead, declining, structurally compromised or unwanted trees, from open-lot fells to technical dismantles over pools, roofs and neighbouring property. We handle access constraints most crews turn down — tight urban lots, rear yards with no side access, overhead service lines, and structures already damaged and not safe to load. Every removal includes cut-up, chipping and haul-off unless you want the wood left for the property owner.

Emergency tree removal

Twenty-four-hour response for trees on structures, vehicles, or blocking access. We stabilize, make safe, and document before we cut.

Tree pruning

Structural pruning, deadwood removal, canopy raising and clearance work — done to ANSI A300 standards rather than by eye. Post-storm canopy that's been stripped on one side needs balancing to prevent the next failure, and pre-loss maintenance pruning is frequently what determines whether a failure was foreseeable. We prune to keep the tree, not to shape it into a hazard three years out.

Dangerous tree removal

Leaners, split unions, hung-up limbs, root-plate lift, and trees already resting on something that can't take the load.

Stump grinding

Grinding to depth, with the spoil either removed or backfilled and topsoiled to grade — your call, and we'll price both. We grind below the depth required for replanting or for sod, not just below the depth required to hide the stump. Surface root chasing is included where roots have lifted walkways or interlock, which on insurance files is usually the reason the stump came out in the first place.

Tree replacement

Like-for-like or nearest-suitable replacement, sized and specified to what was lost. On claims work this is the line item most often underscoped: a mature tree isn't replaced by a 6-foot nursery whip, and the valuation difference matters. We provide replacement specifications with calliper, species and installed cost so the scope reflects the actual loss — including planting, staking, soil amendment, mulch ring and first-season establishment guidance.

Tree health assessments

Arborist-led written condition assessments covering structural defects, decay, root-zone disturbance, pest and disease pressure, and failure likelihood. Used two ways on claims: before the fact, to identify hazards a property owner should address, and after the fact, to establish whether a failed tree was healthy when it came down. Delivered as a written report with photographs and clear risk language — not a verbal opinion at the tailgate.

Storm-damaged tree cleanup

Whole-property cleanup after wind, ice and severe weather — hangers, snapped leaders, debris fields, and the trees still standing that shouldn't be.

Why this matters on a claim

A tree job on an insurance file has three failure modes, and none of them are about cutting.

The scope doesn't hold up

A number scribbled on a quote with no breakdown gets questioned, revised and delayed. We itemize by task and unit so the line items map cleanly onto Xactimate.

The photos don't exist

Once the tree is chipped, the evidence is gone. We photograph pre-removal condition, the failure point, the damage path and progress at each stage — before anything moves.

The property is left half-finished

The tree's gone but there are ruts across the lawn, a crushed interlock border, and a section of fence nobody's responsible for. We restore what we disturb and what the tree damaged, because those crews are ours.

Common questions

Do you work directly with insurance companies?

We work with adjusters, restoration contractors and property owners. We provide the scope, estimate and documentation for our portion of the loss. We don't interpret policy or negotiate claims — that's not our role, and adjusters appreciate that we know it.

Can you get a crew out tonight?

For genuine emergencies — tree on a structure, tree on a vehicle, access blocked, line contact — yes. Call (437) 567-2199. Scheduled removals are booked against current crew availability; call and we'll give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.

Do you handle municipal tree permits?

Yes, in Ontario municipalities we work in regularly. Many protect trees above a certain diameter, and removal without a permit carries real fines. We'll tell you upfront whether a permit is required and handle the application.

What happens to the lawn after you drive equipment across it?

It gets repaired. Rutting, compaction and torn sod from access are part of our scope, not a separate problem for someone else to price. Landscape restoration →
