Insurance and Emergency Exterior Restoration

One contractor for everything outside the building envelope — with the documentation, scope and photo record your file needs to close.

The exterior is the part of the file nobody owns

Inside the building envelope, the process is settled. There's a restoration contractor, a known scope structure, an established documentation standard, and everyone knows who's responsible for what.

Outside, it fragments. The tree company clears the tree and leaves. A hardscape contractor quotes the driveway three weeks later. Somebody's cousin does the fence. Nobody handles the lawn. Each one photographs differently, prices differently, schedules independently, and none of them will speak to the others. The adjuster becomes the project manager for four vendors who don't want to be managed, and the file stays open long after the roof is finished.

Green Care Earth exists to be the single vendor for that entire scope.

Trees, hardscape, structures, landscape, drainage — assessed together, scoped in one document, sequenced by one project lead, photographed to one standard, and invoiced once. Emergency response through to final restoration, on the same file, with the same people.

Emergency response

Emergency tree removal

24/7 mobilization for trees on structures, vehicles and access routes. Make-safe first, documented before cutting, technical dismantle where the geometry demands it.

Emergency tree removal →

Emergency site cleanup

Making a loss site safe and workable for the trades coming in behind — debris cleared, hazards isolated, access re-established.

Site cleanup & debris removal →

Debris removal

Removal, sorting and disposal of tree debris, damaged building materials, destroyed structures and scattered contents — with disposal documentation where volumes need to be substantiated.

Temporary protection

Tarping over roof punctures, board-up of broken glazing, temporary fencing around unsafe areas, ground protection, and shoring of compromised exterior structures. Mitigation that stops the loss from growing overnight — itemized as temporary so it's never mistaken for repair.

Damage types we respond to

Storm damage

Full exterior response to severe weather — downed and damaged trees, debris fields, damaged hardscape, structures and fencing, and the standing trees left compromised by the same event.

Storm & wind damage →

Wind damage

Snapped leaders, uprooted trees, wind-thrown debris, and failed fences, pergolas and light exterior structures. Wind damage is characteristically scattered across a property rather than concentrated, and partial-property scoping is the most common error.

Vehicle impact damage

Vehicles into retaining walls, fences, garages, hardscape, trees and landscape structures. Impact damage propagates well beyond the visible point of contact.

Fallen tree damage

Trees onto roofs, garages, decks, fences, pools, vehicles and neighbouring property — removed, documented for causation, and the damaged exterior components rebuilt.

Fallen tree property damage →

Property impact damage

Impact from falling debris, equipment, construction activity and neighbouring-property failures. We assess and scope the whole affected exterior, including components compromised but not visibly broken.

Exterior water damage

Surface water, failed drainage, washout and undermining — settled hardscape, eroded grade, saturated retaining walls and destroyed landscape. Repairs address the water source, not just the visible damage.

Assessment, documentation and rebuild

Landscape damage assessment

Written assessment of damage to trees, planting, lawn, hardscape and landscape structures, with photographs, extent and replacement specifications. Landscape and tree valuation is where exterior scopes most often fall apart — a mature tree replaced on paper by a nursery whip, or a hedge line valued as three shrubs. We specify by species, size and installed cost so the numbers can be defended.

Exterior reconstruction

Rebuild of everything outside the envelope: interlock, concrete, retaining walls, decks, fences, stairs, railings, pergolas and garden structures, plus the landscape restoration that follows.

Exterior restoration →

Restoration estimating & documentation

Itemized scopes broken out by task, material, quantity and unit, structured to map onto Xactimate line items rather than arriving as a lump sum that has to be unpicked.

Before/after photo documentation

A consistent photo record on every file: pre-existing condition, damage detail, failure points, work in progress, concealed conditions on opening up, and completion shots from matched vantage points. Dated, organized by address, and delivered in a format that attaches to a file without reformatting.

Insurance scope development

Complete scopes for the exterior portion of a loss, including the elements commonly missed — access damage, concealed base and structural damage, and restoration of the landscape disturbed during response work.

Coordination with adjusters and GCs

We work as a subcontractor within a restoration contractor's project structure, or directly with an adjuster on the exterior scope. Either way: one point of contact, scheduled updates rather than chased ones, and a clear boundary between our scope and the building trades' so nothing is duplicated and nothing is dropped.

What we don't do

We don't interpret policy, advise on coverage, or negotiate claims. We're a contractor. We assess physical damage, document it, scope the repair, price it, and build it.

That boundary is deliberate. Adjusters keep sending work to contractors who stay in their lane, and stop sending work to the ones who don't.

Common questions

Do you work directly for insurers, or for the property owner?

Both, and for restoration contractors. Whoever is holding the file — we adapt to your process rather than asking you to adapt to ours.

Will you provide a scope before work starts?

On everything except genuine emergency make-safe, where the priority is stopping the loss from growing. Emergency work is documented in detail as it happens and itemized afterward.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance and WSIB clearance?

Yes, on request, naming an additional insured where required.

Do you handle multiple properties after a catastrophe event?

Yes, with per-address scopes, per-address photo sets, and consolidated or separated invoicing to suit your file structure.

How do you handle supplements?

By trying not to need them. We flag likely concealed damage during scoping and price the contingency openly. Where genuinely concealed damage appears on opening up, we stop, photograph, and submit before proceeding.
