Everything outside the building envelope — hardscape, structures, and the ground they sit on — rebuilt by one contractor, on one scope.
When a claim involves the exterior, the scope tends to fragment. The interlock guy quotes the driveway. Somebody else does the retaining wall. A third company handles the deck, a fourth the fence, and the landscaping is nobody's until the property owner calls to ask why there's a mud pit where the garden was.
Four vendors means four schedules, four sets of photos in four formats, four invoices, and four opportunities for something to fall between scopes. Meanwhile the file sits open.
Green Care Earth takes the whole exterior. Hardscape, concrete, structures, fencing, and the landscape restoration that follows — priced as one scope, sequenced by one project lead, documented in one photo set, invoiced once. For an adjuster or a restoration contractor, that's fewer moving parts and a faster close.
Full lift-and-relay or targeted section replacement — driveways, walkways, patios and pool surrounds. We rebuild the base rather than resetting stone on failed material, because the base is almost always why it failed. Existing stone is salvaged and reused where the product is still available; where it isn't, we source the closest current equivalent and tell you honestly how close it is.
Interlock removal & replacement →Targeted repair of settled, heaved, cracked or displaced sections without redoing the whole surface. Common after tree removal, excavation, vehicle impact, or a winter of poor drainage. We lift the affected area, correct the base and grade, and relay — matching joint pattern and edge restraint so the repair doesn't announce itself.
Segmental block, natural stone and armour stone walls that are leaning, bulging, separating or failed outright. Retaining wall failure is a drainage and geotechnical problem wearing a masonry costume — rebuilding the face without fixing what's behind it buys you two years.
Retaining wall repair →Removal and replacement of cracked, settled, spalled or heaved flatwork. Proper sub-base preparation, correct thickness, control joints located where the slab actually wants to crack, and pads sized and reinforced to the load. Driveway work includes base reconstruction, grading, apron work and municipal coordination where the boulevard or curb cut is involved.
Concrete driveways, walkways & pads →Concrete, precast and natural stone steps rebuilt to consistent rise and run — because uneven risers are the single most common trip hazard on a residential exterior and a genuine liability exposure. Footings below frost depth, drainage away from the entry, and integration with railings. On any stair we rebuild, we bring the geometry to standard rather than replicating a non-compliant original.
Concrete and stone curbing, mow strips and edge restraints — the details that hold a driveway or bed edge together. Frequently damaged by plows, delivery vehicles and equipment access during other work, and frequently left off scopes because they're small. We price them properly rather than absorbing them and cutting corners elsewhere.
Wood, chain link, composite and ornamental metal — section repairs through to full replacement. Post rot, frost heave, wind failure, vehicle impact and tree strike are the usual causes, and each one calls for a different fix. We reset posts in properly drained footings, match existing profiles and heights where only part of a run is being replaced, and handle the fence-line conversation when a neighbour disputes the location.
Structural repair and full rebuild of wood and composite decks. Rot, failed ledger connections, undersized framing, and impact damage from tree failure.
Deck repair & reconstruction →Pergolas, gazebos, arbours, privacy screens and shade structures — repaired or rebuilt to match. These take a disproportionate share of storm and tree-strike damage because they're the lightest structures on a property, and they're regularly underscoped because they read as decorative. They're not; they're built work with footings, connections and permits.
Wood, aluminum and glass railings for decks, stairs, landings and terraces. Height, opening spacing and load resistance to current code — this is the exterior element most likely to be non-compliant on older properties, and the one with the most direct injury exposure. We flag deficiencies we find even when they're outside the scope we were called for.
Sheds, raised beds, trellises, planters and screens — repaired, rebuilt or replaced, and coordinated with the planting restoration around them so the finished result doesn't look like two separate jobs done a season apart.
Landscape restoration →A tree through a pergola, a vehicle into a retaining wall, wind through a fence line, water undermining a walkway — we scope, document and rebuild the full extent. That includes elements not visibly damaged but structurally compromised: the fence posts loosened by the same impact, the wall course disturbed below the obvious break. Underscoping here is the leading cause of supplements later.
Insurance & emergency restoration →Full photographic record of pre-existing condition before demolition, including the damage and the adjacent conditions that explain it.
Itemized by task, material and unit — not a lump sum. Line items map onto Xactimate so they can be reviewed and compared without translation.
Where we expect concealed damage — a base that's going to be worse than it looks, a footing that won't be salvageable — we say so before demolition and price the contingency openly rather than surprising you with a supplement.
Progress photography at each stage, from the same positions, so the record shows base preparation and not just the finished surface.
Completion photo set and a final invoice matching the approved scope.
Yes. A significant share of our work comes through restoration GCs who need the exterior handled while they focus on the building. We work to your schedule, your documentation standards and your invoicing process.
Often, and honestly when we can't. Discontinued paver colours and older concrete finishes can't always be matched exactly. We'll show you the closest available option and explain where a blended repair beats an obvious patch.
Where required — decks above a certain height, structures, retaining walls above a threshold height, and some stair and railing work. We identify the requirement during scoping so it doesn't derail the schedule.
No. The written scope and the photo set come with the file at no charge, whether or not the work proceeds with us.
We'll get you a documented, itemized scope for the entire exterior — trees, hardscape and landscape on one file. Scoping and photo documentation are no charge.
